5G Trial Access

From 30 May, we'll be rolling out a 5G access trial for Boost customers. To be eligble for the trial you need to have an active recharge, a 5G compatible device and be in a 5G coverage area. The trial will run until 26 September 2022.

What is included?
From May 30th, we will be gradually rolling out a 5G access trial for all Boost prepaid customers. To remain eligible for the trial, you simply need to continue to have an active recharge. You will be notified by an SMS or email once 5G access has been added to your prepaid service as part of this trial. Then, to access 5G, you’ll need a 5G compatible device and be in a 5G coverage area. You will not be charged for the trial and all other benefits of your service will remain the same. The trial will end on 26 September 2022, after which your service will default back to the standard in-market network access for your chosen plan and recharge amount at that time.

Want to test how your 5G is performing?
Test your mobile connection and speed performance here Your data allowance will not be impacted by this test. Please make sure Wi-Fi is turned off when testing.  To access 5G, you’ll need a 5G compatible device in a 5G coverage area.

How do I know when I’m part of the trial?
We will notify you once 5G access has been added to your service. Please note, you need to have an active recharge to remain eligible for this trial.

How do I access 5G?
Once you have received your notification that 5G access has been added to your service, you need 3 things to access 5G on Boost Mobile:

  1. An active prepaid recharge

  3. Be in an area which has 5G coverage (check out our coverage map)

Why haven’t I got 5G access yet?
We are gradually adding 5G to all prepaid recharges over the next few weeks. If you haven’t been notified that you’ve got 5G access yet, then it won’t be long! Please be patient and we will contact you once 5G is added to your service. It may take up to 24 hours for 5G access to appear on your service. Please note, you must have an active recharge to remain eligible for the trial.

How long does the trial go for?
Customers will be added to the trial gradually and will be notified once they have 5G trial access. Regardless of when you receive trial access, the trial will end on the 26th of September 2022. After the trial, your service will default back to the standard in-market network access for your chosen plan and recharge amount at that time.
