Getting started with Boost is quick and easy! Before you begin, make sure you have:
- Your Boost SIM serial number (found on the back of the SIM packaging)
- A valid form of ID for verification
You can choose to:
Bring your existing number from another provider (just keep your current SIM in your phone until the transfer is complete).
Get a new Boost number if you don’t need to transfer your current one.
Steps to activate your Boost Prepaid service:
- Go to http://boost.com.au/activate and select ‘Activate Prepaid’
- Enter your SIM serial number (found on the back of your SIM kit)
- Choose to keep your existing number or get a new one
- Select your device type (mobile or data-only device)
- Enter your ID details for verification
- Provide your contact details
- Choose your Boost plan and recharge amount
- Review everything and click ‘Activate’
How long does activation take?
- Most activations happen within 4 hours, but it can take longer.
- If you’re transferring your number, it will only happen during our operating hours.
How do I know when my boost service is activated?
You'll know your Boost service is active when:
- Your service with your previous provider stops working (if you transferred your number)
- You receive a confirmation email or SMS from us.
How to Check If Your Boost SIM is Active:
- Insert your Boost SIM into your phone
- Turn your phone off and back on
- If you see ‘Boost’ next to your signal bars, your service is live!
Still waiting? Try restarting your device every now and then. Most activations happen within a few hours, but some can take longer.
