Do you already have access to parental controls?
Accessing content filters and parental controls
Content filters and parental controls come in different forms and sizes, offering a variety of options. You'll find them built right into devices like your computer or phone. And they also pop up as cool extras in third-party software or within certain apps and services, like streaming platforms, social media, or search engines.
Chances are, you've got parental controls and content filters at your fingertips already. If you're using third-party security software, just peek into the app, and you'll likely spot parental controls (they're usually hanging out in there).
If you want to explore more options then the Family Friendly Filter Program has your back with a list of accredited content filters to get you started.
Filtering Products
You can use a filtering product on prepaid mobile. It works on the device itself, not the plan. Filters run through your phone’s operating system or internet connection, so whether you’re on prepaid or a contract, it’s all good.
Here’s how you can do it:
- Device-based filters: Download an app that blocks content by category. If your phone supports it, it’ll work - no matter your carrier or plan.
- Network-based filters: Some providers offer filtering at the network level. Prepaid uses the same networks as contract plans, so if your provider supports it, you’re covered.
Bottom line: prepaid doesn’t limit your options. You can keep your phone safe and filtered just like any other device.
Compatibility issues
In our experience, compatibility issues are more commonly caused by interactions between filtering products and the device’s operating system or software, rather than the internet service itself. Factors that may affect compatibility include:
- Device type and operating system;
- Software updates or settings; and
- The filtering product’s configuration.
If you experience any issues with a filtering product while using Telstra Boost Mobile services, we encourage you to contact your filtering product provider directly. Alternatively, you can also contact us
