What forms of ID can I use for verification?

You can verify your identity using valid ID documents, or with ConnectID where available.  

Buying an eSIM or activating a SIM

If you’re activating a prepaid service online, you can verify yourself online, using one of the following forms of ID:

• Australian driver licence – physical or digital 
• Australian or international passport 
• ImmiCard
• Medicare card 
• International passport with a valid Australian visa 

You can also choose to verify yourself using ConnectID, which confirms your identity through a participating bank, instead of providing ID documents. Learn more about ConnectID.

Buying a physical SIM online

If you’re purchasing a physical SIM online, you can verify yourself using one of the following forms of ID:

• Australian driver licence – physical or digital
• Australian passport
• International passport with a valid Australian visa
