A long expiry prepaid plan is a prepaid mobile plan that lasts longer than the usual 28 days - typically 6 months or 356 days (12 months). You pay upfront and use your included calls, texts and data over the life of the plan.

With a long expiry prepaid plan, you pay once upfront, and your plan stays active for the full expiry period - either 6 months or 365 days (12 months), depending on the plan you choose. You can use your included calls, texts and data at any time during the life of the plan, which means fewer recharges and less to think about compared to 28‑day plans.

When your long‑expiry prepaid plan reaches its expiry date, you’ll need to recharge to keep using calls, texts and data.

We’ll give you a heads‑up as your expiry approaches, so you’re not caught off guard. Recharging is quick and easy, the simplest way is through the My Boost Mobile app, but you can also recharge online. More info on recharging your service.

Yes - you can keep your existing mobile number when switching to a long expiry prepaid plan. Just choose to keep your number when you activate your new SIM, and we’ll take care of the rest. 

Yes, our long‑expiry prepaid plans are available on eSIM for compatible devices. If your phone supports eSIM, you can activate without a physical SIM and get set up faster.

Most phones released from around 2020 onwards support eSIM. If your phone was bought overseas, compatibility can vary. To check, dial *#06# on your phone - if you see an EID number, your device is eSIM compatible.

  • Speed caps: Speeds vary for reasons like location, distance from base stations, terrain, user numbers, hardware/software configuration, download source and upload destination. Download speeds are capped on our 4G and 5G networks on some plans. Your capped download speed is the maximum potential download speed for data included in your recharge. Factors impacting typical speed include location, distance from the base station, local conditions, concurrent users, hardware and software configuration and download/upload destination.​

  • Rollover unused data to use within your next recharge when you recharge $26, $39, $49, $59 or $74 before expiry.​

  • Unlimited Calls and Texts includes national calls and text (SMS & MMS) to standard national numbers. Excludes calls and texts (inc. MMS) to international numbers, and premium numbers (e.g. 19xx numbers), operator assisted calls (most 12xx numbers), diverted calls and all use overseas. Includes unlimited calls to domestic satellite numbers. Our FairPlay policy (PDF 227 KB) applies.​

  • UNLTD International calls includes calls from Australia to standard numbers in the selected countries. 300/1200/3600 mins includes calls to standard international numbers from Australia. 300/1200/3600 texts include standard texts (SMS & MMS) to eligible countries. Both exclude premium services and video calls. Includes 5 mins of calls to international satellite numbers.
