To check your device compatibility:

  • Dial *#06# on your device.
  • If your device is eSIM compatible, it will display an EID number.

Still unsure? Use the My Boost Mobile app to buy your eSIM.

With all things eSIM, your phone needs to be A compatible e-SIM device.

Then all you need to do is jump onto the My Boost Mobile app, and there two different ways to do it within the app.

Services tab

  1. On the services homepage, tap the service you want to switch
  2. Scroll down to the bottom and tap ‘Transfer or restore eSIM’.
  3. Follow the prompts and you'll be binning your SIM card in no time.

Get help

  1. Tap Get help and select your service number
  2. Select set up or manage eSIM
  3. From here, we'll guide you through the process and you'll be physical SIM-less in a few minutes.

Absolutely! You can keep your current number when moving to an eSIM. At the start of the activation process, you can select “keep your current number” – there’s no need to start fresh. Just make sure your details exactly match your current account, and you’ll be good to go.

No. All of our plans are available with eSIM. Switching from a physical SIM to an eSIM doesn’t impact your plan, mobile number or recharge

Simply follow the steps below to get set up with eSIM.

  1. Check your device is compatible. 
    Dial *#06# on your phone. If you see an EID number, your device is eSIM compatible.
  2. Choose your plan 
    All of our prepaid plans are eSIM compatible. Check out our plans.
  3. Activate & Download
    You can grab an eSIM using the My Boost Mobile App or online by selecting eSIM as your SIM type.

A dual SIM device can support two SIM cards, allowing both a physical SIM and an eSIM to be installed on the same device. Depending on the device, this could be two physical SIMs, two eSIMs or a combination of both.

This means you can make and receive calls and texts with two different mobile numbers, as well as use mobile data from two separate plans. And just like twins, the plans don’t even need to be identical.

Dual SIM functionality differs between device models. Check with the device manufacturer for details.

If you need assistance with your Boost Mobile eSIM, there are several support options available:

 

  • Coverage: 5G is rolling out in selected areas and available with a compatible device. In non-5G coverage areas, you'll automatically switch to our fastest available 4G. Check our mobile coverage page. ​

  • Speed caps: Speeds vary for reasons like location, distance from base stations, terrain, user numbers, hardware/software configuration, download source and upload destination. Download speeds are capped on our 4G and 5G networks on some plans. Your capped download speed is the maximum potential download speed for data included in your recharge. Factors impacting typical speed include location, distance from the base station, local conditions, concurrent users, hardware and software configuration and download/upload destination.​

  • Rollover unused data to use within your next recharge when you recharge $28, $39, $49, $59 or $74 before expiry.​

  • Unlimited Calls and Texts includes national calls and text (SMS & MMS) to standard national numbers. Excludes calls and texts (inc. MMS) to international numbers, and premium numbers (e.g. 19xx numbers), operator assisted calls (most 12xx numbers), diverted calls and all use overseas. Includes unlimited calls to domestic satellite numbers. Our FairPlay policy (PDF 227 KB) applies.​

  • UNLTD International calls includes calls from Australia to standard numbers in the selected countries. 300/1200/3600 mins includes calls to standard international numbers from Australia. 300/1200/3600 texts include standard texts (SMS & MMS) to eligible countries. Both exclude premium services and video calls. Includes 5 mins of calls to international satellite numbers.
